Borsa Vini Italiani with Montespada Agricola in Singapore

Here’s part two of our preview of wineries that will feature at Borsa Vini Italiani in Singapore, 22 November 2018.

Thanks to its diverse landscape and myriad grape varieties, Italy produces the largest range of wine styles in the world. Across its 20 wine regions, you can sip on the likes of rich velvety Barolos and bold red Chiantis, fresh wine Vermentino aromatic whites from the north, earthy and smoky volcanic wine of Mount Etna and a host of fizzy Spumante, Prosecco or Franciacorta.

At Borsa Vini Italiani 2018, a fine selection of wineries from across the country will be showcasing their wine, their passion, expertise and heritage.

On November 22 at 11.30 am, Mr. Lim Hwee-Peng, Certified Specialist in Wines (CSW), wine educator and certified wine judge, will be hosting a Blind Wine tasting experience. Guests will be taken on a wine journey through the excellence of Italy as Mr. Lim introduces 10 of the best Italian wines presented at the event without revealing their labels. This is an exciting wine experience not to be missed for wine lovers and enthusiasts.

In this second installment, we highlight some wineries from the southern regions and the islands of Italy to look out for at the wine exhibition.

With its warm climate, hilly terrain, volcanic soil, sunny dry climate and mollifying sea breezes, Sardinia is an ideal place for growing wine grapes. Its location off to the west of mainland Italy means the key grape varieties here are very much different to the other Italian wine regions. The island’s best known red grape is Cannonau, a relative of the Spanish Granacha grape.
